Overview

The patented ULTRAsplice is a high performance, cost effective, mechanical fiber optic splice that is reusable and easy to install for emergency or permanent installations. The splice features a patented glass capillary alignment tube, pre-loaded with index matching gel, to allow inspection of fiber location during installation. Additionally, the collet locking nuts allow users to tune and secure the fiber for optimum alignment and retention.

• Splice accepts any combination of buffer sizes form 250 um to 900um. Average loss is less than .2dBwith a fiber retention of over 2 lbs.
• Cleave and insert fibers while checking location in the glass capillary, secure buy twisting a locking nut.

• This US-128 splice is for 125um cladding multimode applications. It accepts any combination of 250um coated and 900um buffered fibers. Typical splice loss is <0.2dB and return loss <-50dB. US-128 is IBM #33G8227. This splice is orange color coded for easy recognition.
• The ULTRASplice is a fully mechanical fiber optic splice for singlemode and multimode splicing. No fixtures or special tools are required and they are tunable and reusable. An uncovered glass capillary allows visual inspection for proper fiber location. The ULTRASplice can be used in any combination of buffer sizes.

Benefits

• The glass capillary allows inspection of fiber misalignments. Using the Visual Fault Locator (P/N: FT-VFL), a light will amplify the fiber misalignment point and allow the user to fine tune the splice.
• When fibers are properly aligned, no light will be visible. This feature allows the installer to obtain a low loss splice quickly and efficiently.
