Ethernet over Coax LAN Extender, up to 32 units on a coaxial segment, shares cable with CATV signal
Product description
Ethernet over Coaxial cable (EoCNA) is a technology allowing more than 100Mbps of bandwidth over classic CATV/CCTV coaxial cable. Media can be shared for up to 32 nodes on a single coaxial segment. There is no interference to CATV signal.
112Mbps bandwidth can be attained in a point to point connection on distances of 3000 feet. We provide managed (EOC-20 and EOC-21) and unmanaged (EOC-10) equipment for Ethernet over Coax transmissions.
Applications ofEthernet-over-Coaxinclude Internet access in MDU/MHU (Multi Dwellings or Hospitality Units) where an existing CATV network is in place or on short range outdoor CATV coaxial networks. They are also useful in upgrades of CCTV Surveillance systems to IP based Surveillance, where Ethernet data must be sent over an existing coaxial cable network.
Last, but not least, Ethernet over Coax could be a Home Networking solution, bringing Ethernet to each room of a house over the existing coaxial cabling.
