This kit provides a solution to protect your mechanical splice especially if the splice is not placed in a splice tray.

This kti includes a metallic protective sleeve and heat shrink tubes. It can accept 3M Fibrlok II (P/N: 2529), AMP Corelink (P/N: F045900), Siemon Ultrasplice (P/N: US-126, US-128) and Corning Cable Systems CamSplice (P/N: 95-000-04).

Instruction:
1. Install the metallic sleeve and shrink tubes onto the fibers being spliced
2. Assemble the mechanical splice as usual
3. Align the protective sleeve and shrink tube to cover the mechanical splice
4. Apply heat to the shrink tubes to fix the metallic sleeve into position. ...

The 3M brand Fibrlok II 2529 Universal Optical Fiber Splice is a high performance, easy-to-use, mechanical optical fiber splice. The Fibrlok II Universal Splice can be used with either single-mode or multimode fibers with a cladding diameter of 125 microns. It will accommodate any combination of fibers with coating diameters from 250 mm to 900 mm. In addition, the Universal Optical Fiber Splice incorporates a single cleave length for splicing both 250 and 900 micron coated fibers and provides the ability to "re-position" fibers for increased splicing yields.

The Fibrlok 2612 12 Fiber Ribbon Optical Splicing System provides permanent mechanical splices for 12 single mode or multimode optical fibers with a nominal cladding diameter of 125um.

This splice is yellow color coded for easy recognition.

This 12 fiber mechanical splice can be used with either fiber optic ribbon cable or individual 250um coated fibers which have been organized into a ribbon structure (i.e. "ribbonized"). For additional information concerning the use of 250um fiber, refer to the Fibrlok 2670 Multi-Fiber Ribbon Construction Tool.

Also available is 3M 2604 (4 fiber), 2606 (6 fiber), 2608 (8 fiber) and 2610 (10 fiber) multi-fiber optical splice.

Corning Cable Systems’ CamSplice is a simple, craft-friendly mechanical splice for both multimode and single-mode fibers. It features a “cam” locking mechanism, which requires no adhesive. The CamSplice mechanical splice incorporates an unique, patented fiber alignment method that self-centers the fibers and provides extremely accurate alignment. Average “blind” (non-tuned) splice loss for the CamSplice mechanical splice is specified at 0.15 dB with a minimum loss less than 0.3 dB.
