Corning Infinicor SX+ is Corning's VCSEL laser optimized 50/125um multimode fiber for high speed, VCSEL laser-based local area networks (LAN), storage area networks, high-speed parallel interconnects for central offices and access networks. It guarantees the bandwidth of 10Gb/s over 300m at 850nm.
With superior technology and profile control, Corning InfiniCor SX+ multimode fibers revolutionize performance in local area networks, storage area networks and central office interconnects. The InfiniCor SX+ fiber product line, are optimized for high performance with laser-based protocols such as 10 Gigabit Ethernet.
In today’s enterprise networks, bandwidth demands are growing – rapidly. That’s
because end-user productivity is increasingly dependent on instant accessibility and
high throughput of information. Narrow bandwidth constricts your capacity to succeed.
Corning’s 50 μm InfiniCor SX+ fibers, the world’s first laser-optimized 50 μm multimode
fibers, help you to stay ahead of escalating network demands with:
- High performance at data rates up to 10 Gb/s at 850 nm
- Cost-effective, higher capacity transmission compared with other
multimode fibers
- Higher data aggregation in the backbone, riser and high-speed parallel
interconnects (HSPIs)
- Full compatibility with the broad range of laser-based and legacy protocols
and applications
- Superior measurement technology and manufacturing control
- Industry-leading CPC® coatings for superior microbend and
environmental performance

Thoroughly Measured for Performance You Can Count On
Corning Fiber is a world leader in developing and using the most advanced measurement techniques for laseroptimized
multimode fibers. In fact, InfiniCor fibers are more thoroughly measured than any other
multimode fiber on the market. Corning uses direct manufacturing process control and final product
measurements for all InfiniCor fibers to ensure performance in laser-based systems.
Corning Fiber ensures EMB via calculated effective modal bandwidth (EMBc) for InfiniCor eSX+, InfiniCor SX+
and InfiniCor SXi optical fibers. EMBc is a differential mode delay (DMD)-based bandwidth value
that best predicts multimode system performance in high-bandwidth laser-based 10 Gb/s and 1 Gb/s
systems. And it ensures EMB via restricted mode launch (RML) bandwidth measurements for the
InfiniCor 600 optical fiber. The RML bandwidth metric is a standards-defined method that accurately
predicts intermediate-bandwidth, laser-based system performance. Corning is the first optical fiber
manufacturer to offer EMBc or RML measurements for its laser-optimized multimode fibers.
