The Covestro DeSolite® DP-1900 is a high-performance primary optical fiber coating developed for advanced telecommunications fiber manufacturing. Designed to serve as the inner protective layer in dual-coating systems, DP-1900 provides the flexibility and cushioning needed to protect glass fibers from mechanical stress while helping preserve optical signal integrity.

Engineered for compatibility with DeSolite® DS-2900 secondary coatings, DP-1900 is well suited for next-generation fiber designs, including G.654.E applications used in high-capacity and long-distance communication networks. Its low modulus characteristics help reduce microbending losses, contributing to improved fiber performance in demanding operating environments.

DP-1900 supports both UV and LED curing technologies, allowing manufacturers to optimize production efficiency while maintaining consistent coating quality. The formulation is suitable for both wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry coating processes and is designed to support high-speed draw tower operations where throughput and reliability are critical.
