The Corning Cable Systems CamSplice provides you with an easy to install one size fits all fiber optic mechanical splice. This fiber optic mechanical splice features a unique "Cam" locking mechanism, which requires no fiber optic epoxy or adhesive.
The CamSplice Fiber Optic Mechanical Splice incorporates a unique alignment method that self centers optical fibers, enabling you to achieve accurate alignment within the body of the splice. You will find that splice losses of less than 0.5dB are consistently achievable.
The CamSplice Fiber Optic Mechanical Splice fits 250/250µm, 250/900µm and 900/900µm. Completed splices fit in Corning Cable Systems fiber optic splice trays as well as industry-standard fiber optic splice trays.
The CamSplice Fiber Optic Mechanical Splice requires minimal training. The assembly process involves stripping and cleaving optical fibers, inserting the fibers into the splice part until they touch, then turning the cams to secure the fibers. The process does not involve any adhesives or special tools, although an optional assembly fixture is recommended. A typical installation takes less than two minutes.
