It enables users to combine fiber inspection and testing together in a single portable solution. The JDSU Video Fiber Inspection Kit's versatile FBP QuickCapture Probe has 350µm and 550µm horizontal fields of view.
An included USB Image Capture Module allows the analog microscope and a connector to interface with a Windows PC or laptop via USB 1.1 port or higher. This compact design assures easy one-handed operation.
When used with a laptop, the probe works with the included FiberChek software. This simple and efficient application enables users to capture images and perform basic image analysis of optical fiber end-faces to determine acceptability. Used in conjunction with the analog probe and image capture module, FiberChek provides a user-friendly interface for live image viewing and capturing of a fiber end-face through a PC/laptop.
It also includes basic image analysis capabilities which provide automated pass or fail results by analyzing defects (contamination, pit/chip and scratches) found on the fiber surface. Failure criteria for grading and testing the fiber may be defined by the user. They are stored and saved as profiles.
