The EFM-40 is an Ethernet Network Extender using bonded G.shdsl.bis technology over copper wires. Unit supports EFM (Ethernet First Mile) 2Base-TL technology, a collection of standards for Ethernet over LAN, MAN and WAN deployments. EFM-40 uses the 802.3ah management protocol, making it a very powerful unit for service providers and providing all needed mass deployment features. EFM-40 has a 4 port Ethernet switch with advanced VLAN and QoS capabilities. Management includes web-based interface, SNMP, telnet CLI interface and local console port.
The EFM-40 can provide 22.8Mbps of data throughput on 8 wire (4 pairs) AWG26 copper lines. QoS services can help setting ingress/egress data rates and data traffic can be proritized according to WRR/ BE or SP rules. EFM-40 can be used in point to point connections.
