The 3M No Polish LC Connector (NPC) is designed for fast, simple, and reliable on-site termination of 250 µm and 900 µm multimode fibers. This specific model is optimized for OM3 10G Laser Optimized Multimode Fiber (LOMMF), making it an ideal choice for high-speed data centers, enterprise networks, and premises applications.
By utilizing a factory-polished ferrule and a high-performance mechanical splice, the NPC eliminates the need for field polishing, adhesives, or power-consuming curing ovens. The one-piece, pre-assembled design allows for field termination in less than two minutes while ensuring consistent optical performance equivalent to factory-made patch cords.
The LC compatible connector consists of a factory-polished fiber/ferrule assembly and a mechanical splice that is installed with a simple and reliable field tool, which is included in every box of 60 connectors.
The streamlined boot is attached to the connector body, minimizing the chance of losing or forgetting to install it during the termination process. After the installation, the boot keeps the fiber from kinking, even during side pull.
On the 3M No Polish LC Connector Assembly Tool 8835-AT, the connector receptacle is hinged allowing for easy insertion and removal of the LC NPC. The connector may be inserted with or without the dust cap in place.
