Franklin CGS3-02V-WD CELLGUARD Battery Sensor

The Franklin Electric CGS3-02V-WD is a dedicated 2V battery sensor module designed as a core component for the CELLGUARD™ Wired Battery Monitoring System (BMS). Powered directly by the monitored battery, it provides continuous measurement of critical battery health metrics. When paired with the CGBC-350-HWD Base Coordinator Unit, the sensor transmits reliable, real-time data for comprehensive power grid and battery bank analysis via its built-in COM ports.

Key Capabilities

• Parameter Measurement: Accurately measures voltage, internal resistance, and temperature of individual 2V batteries.
• Self-Powered Design: Draws operational power (2V @ 13mA) directly from the monitored lead-acid battery, eliminating the need for an external power source at the sensor level.
• Physical Interfaces: Equipped with a status indicator light, a dedicated battery connection port for the cable harness, and dual communication ports (COM1/COM2) for daisy-chained string integration.

Installation Warning

Strictly for 2V Applications: The CGS3-02V-WD must only be installed on 2V lead-acid batteries. Installing this sensor on a battery with an incorrect voltage rating will cause permanent damage to the unit.

System Integration

This sensor module is an accessory that requires the CELLGUARD CGBC-350-HWD Base Coordinator Unit (sold separately) for centralized data collection. Complete installation may also require additional components such as string sensors, module address modifiers, interconnect cables, battery harnesses, and battery tabs (all sold separately).
