Siemon STM-8 Hand-Held Cable Tester
The Siemon STM-8 is a diagnostic hand-held cable tester designed for identifying active pair configurations and detecting wiring faults in modular network cables. It features a master unit with a large LCD screen, where each segment directly represents a modular connector pin location for intuitive fault identification. Equipped with a patented Universal plug, the STM-8 interfaces securely with any standard 6- or 8-position modular jack.
Engineered for field reliability, the device includes line voltage detection to prevent accidental damage during testing, alongside a low-battery indicator and an automatic shut-off function to preserve battery life. The built-in FIND mode accurately identifies twisted wires and displays the specific configuration directly on the screen.
Key Features
- Tests T568A, T568B, USOC, 10BASE-T, Token Ring, and TP-PMD active pair configurations
- FIND mode identifies shorted or twisted wires and maps the configuration on the LCD
- Universal plug design compatible with standard 6- and 8-position modular jacks
- Line voltage detection protects the tester from accidental damage
- Automatic shut-off and low-battery indicator for extended field use
- Supports multi-channel testing with up to four individually identifiable remotes (three additional remotes sold separately)
