SMCGS10P Gigabit Ethernet 8+2 SFP ports L2 web-smart POE managed switch
Product description
A powerful choice for POE 802.3af compatible applications is the SMCGS10P-Smart Gigabit Ethernet switch from Edge-Core. Switch has 8 ports of 10/100/1000Mbps copper interfaces and 2 SFP Gigabit Ethernet slots for fiber optic connections. The model has Layer 2 capabilities and has a WebSmart management interface. It also provides Power over Ethernet according to 802.3af PoE standards, offering a power budget of 75W with a maximum power output of 30W per port. On an even load, each of the 8 copper ports can provide 7.5W of PoE power.
All copper ports support auto-negotiation of speed and detection of straight/crossover cable connections through the auto MDI/MDIX capability.
Besides the priority control support, switch provides also VLAN capabilities. Sometimes VLAN is used to segregate different services to same customer, but most often, VLAN networks are useful in sharing a same fiber optic link to several customers which are in proximity of each other and under the standard copper cable coverage(MDU - appartments or condominiums, MHU and business centers do qualify under these particular FTTB deployments). The SMCGS18P-Smart switch supports port based VLAN and IEEE 802.1q VLAN, rapid spanning tree and IGMP snooping. It is also able to handle Jumbo Packets up to 9.6K size.
Probably one of the most important features of SMCGS10P-Smart are its impressive QoS capabilities like: bandwidth control per port, 802.1p class of service with 8 hardware priority queues per port, WRR and Strict Priority functions and IP and MAC address filtering.
SMCGS10P-Smart switch offers also different ways for remote management, like web interface and SNMP management.
