SPC345 Franklin Wired 12V Battery Monitoring System Kit
The SPC345 Kit provides the essential components of the Franklin Electric Energy Systems CELLGUARD™ Wired Battery Monitoring System (BMS) for 24/7 monitoring and analysis of stationary 12V batteries, purpose-built for applications with high electromagnetic noise. The CGBC-350-HWD Base Coordinator Unit (BCU) aggregates reading logs, records battery performance, and manages alarm parameters via a built-in CONVERGE™ web interface. The BCU also seamlessly integrates with UNITE™ Battery Asset Management Software via MQTTS for centralized network-wide data reporting. Hard-wired battery sensors ensure uninterrupted communication for robust real-time data collection.
Instead of relying on periodic spot checks, the CELLGUARD™ system tests each battery's internal resistance at pre-determined intervals and presents the results as long-term trends. This automated data collection captures discharge events in high resolution—including battery voltage, string voltage, discharge current, and capacity—allowing engineers to identify failing units before uninterrupted power is compromised.
Key Features & Benefits
- Continuous Health Trending: Automated internal-resistance testing interval provides accurate state-of-health tracking rather than manual spot-checks.
- Automated Discharge Capture: Highly detailed event recording stores comprehensive discharge metrics for compliance and post-event analysis.
- Industrial Reliability: Engineered with a built-in watchdog auto-reboot and a verified 100,000-hour MTBF.
- High EMI Immunity: EMC certified to CISPR 11 and the IEC 61000-4 series for safe, stable installation near switchgear, drives, and chargers.
- Open Communication Architecture: Easy integration into existing SCADA and BMS platforms via RS485 and Ethernet (Modbus/RTU, Modbus/TCP, SNMPv3, MQTTS, HTTPS).
- Scalable Architecture: The standalone BCU supports up to 6 strings, up to 120 batteries per string, and 360 total batteries.
