Franklin Electric Wireless 12V Battery Monitoring System Kit

The SPC350 Kit provides the essential components of Franklin Electric Energy Systems' CELLGUARD™ Wireless Battery Monitoring System (BMS) for comprehensive state-of-health monitoring and analysis of battery voltage, temperature, and conductance. Built around wireless, conductance-based monitoring, this system represents a highly accurate, efficient, and non-invasive method for assessing a stationary battery's true state of health without disturbing the power systems it protects.

The included CGBC-350 Base Coordinator Unit (BCU) scales up to 16 strings, 300 batteries per string, and up to 600 sensors per BCU regardless of string distribution. By utilizing an integrated CONVERGE™ web interface, personnel can easily configure the network, establish specific alarm thresholds, gather critical discharge data, and perform over-the-air firmware updates. The system effectively replaces hard-wired installations in power utilities, data centers, and telecommunications sites.

Kit Contents

  • (1) CGBC-350 Wireless Base Coordinator Unit (BCU)
  • (1) CGBC-DC-48-ENC DC-DC Converter (24–72 VDC input, 12 VDC output)
  • (4) CGS3-100-06V-12V Wireless Sensors (6–12V)
  • (1) CGVTC2-60 LCT VTC Unit (Split-core transducer for 750 MCM or smaller cables)

Key Features & Applications

  • Wireless Mesh Architecture: 802.15.4 wireless communication (2.4 GHz) eliminates traditional sensor cabling, significantly cutting installation time and materials.
  • Non-Invasive Diagnostics: Patented conductance technology dynamically assesses the health of individual mono-blocks, cells, or jars.
  • Hot-Swappable Design: Fully hot-swappable sensors and wiring harnesses enable seamless network additions or maintenance without string rewiring.
  • Advanced Integration: Consolidates data forwarding over Modbus TCP/IP, SNMPv3, and MQTTS for building infrastructure integration.
  • Visual Hardware Status: Individual LED indicators on every sensor quickly display hardware state-of-health at a glance (Green: Normal, Yellow: Warning, Red: Alarm).
