TLC Distribution Fiber Optic Cable with Aluminum Interlocking Armor, 6 Fiber, Singlemode, Riser, Yellow, 4.8mm OD, with Corning SMF-28 Ultra Fiber (per meter)

Overview

This TLC Distribution fiber optic cable is engineered for indoor environments requiring enhanced physical protection. Featuring 6 singlemode fibers, this cable utilizes high-performance Corning SMF-28 Ultra glass, known for its low attenuation and excellent bend performance. The cable is designed with an aluminum interlocking armor (AIA), which provides robust mechanical defense against crushing, rodent damage, and impacts in high-traffic or demanding installation areas.

Rated for riser applications, this cable is suitable for vertical installations between floors. The compact 4.8mm outer diameter (OD) facilitates easier routing in tight spaces compared to traditional armored cables, while the yellow jacket ensures quick identification of singlemode fiber in mixed-media deployments.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this cable suitable for outdoor use?
This cable is riser-rated for indoor use. It should not be used in exposed outdoor environments.

What is the primary benefit of the aluminum interlocking armor?
The armor provides high mechanical protection, shielding the fibers from physical crushing and potential rodent intrusion.

Is this compatible with standard LC or SC connectors?
Yes, the singlemode fibers are compatible with industry-standard connectors such as LC, SC, or ST.

What does 'Riser' rating mean?
The Riser (OFNR) rating indicates the cable meets specific fire-retardant standards required for installations in vertical shafts and between floors.

Does the 4.8mm diameter include the armor?
Yes, the 4.8mm outer diameter reflects the total thickness of the cable including the armor and outer jacket.
